Big Cat Humour....

As a massive fan of Peter Cook & Dudley Moore I think this lighthearted sketch is most apt for this hobby of mine & although extremely humorous it is also quite sobering....

The Unexplained

(Not Only...But Also...,BBC2, 1966)

The second series of Not Only...But Also...was the only one of the three [series] to be awarded the BBC accolade of a Christmas Special, and this was Pete and Dud's festive offering. For anyone who's followed the recent adventures of the Beast of Bodmin, and other unexplained Big Cats roaming the British countryside, this forty-one-year old Surrey puma has a surprisingly topical air....

Dud:Tea's up, Pete.

Pete:Nothing like a nice cup of tea.

Dud: Nothing like a nice cup of tea.

Pete:Nothing like a nice cup of tea.

Dud:Yeah.

Pete:I see they caught that Surrey puma at last.

Dud:Really?

Pete:The Surrey Puma Captured, it says here.

Dud:That ferocious mammal, that has been terrorizing the Surry commuters with its unpredictable sallies?

Pete:Precisely. That furred beast that has been terrorizing that lovely part of the Surrey wolds. Do you know what it turned out to be?

Dud:What?

Pete:Sheep.

Dud:Sheep?

Pete:It was a sheep.

Dud:Really?

Pete:A sheep that had got hold of some drugs, became crazed, gone berserk and gone around biting people. It just shows you how incredibly gullible and naive people can be. They see something flitting through the laurels, they immediately assume it's a puma, whereas in fact there is a perfectly logical, rational explanation – namely, that a sheep had broken into a chemists, got hold of some Benzedrine, and is rushing through the countryside in a state of excitement.

Dud:There is always a logical explanation for everything.

Pete:There is always a logical explanation, Dud, for everything............

I wonder if Pete could provide Dud with a logical explanation for the choice of landing zone?
